I work with a lot of flannels.
They are warm, cuddly, and wonderful for where we live.
I also find them very forgiving to sew with.
But, oh there are so many scraps that I want to keep!!
I needed to come up with something to make from them.
And, is there anyone else besides me who doesn't like to hold their threads,
or waste it with start/stop tails??
This WIP became my solution project..
To the right of my machine I keep a pile of tumbler-shaped pieces.
When I come to the end of a stitching,
I take two pieces and sew them together.
This project will be ongoing for a while,
but when this Work In Progress is done,
there will be a lot of memories stitched together.....

That is a really great idea. If I could get my kitty cats to leave everything alone I would try it. I dont have a designated work place :(\
ReplyDeleteThose tumblers are adorable!

ReplyDeleteThese little tumblers are a great idea! They will make a pretty and cozy quilt when done.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great project. I love the mixture of colors. I have a lot of flannels (actually a LOT of flannels) I have been saving, but don't have a project for. I find myself thinking that flannel is not ideal for projects with small pieces because of bulky seams. Do you iron your seams open?
ReplyDeleteWhen you come to visit, make sure to check out the book I bought called "Sunday Morning Quilts". It show you how to sort your scraps and then use them for many different scrap quilts. See you soon!
